melbourne wedding
I just revisited this blog after the couple just celebrated their wedding anniversary… I still love these images, I hope you do too!
When Caterina and Andrew contact me to let me know she had set her wedding date and they requested that I capture their special day, I was really excited.
Excited for two reasons, firstly I’m always pumped about photographing a wedding. But secondly, Caterina was the 3rd and final daughter in this wonderful family of sisters that I had photographed over the years. To be entrusted to capture Caterina and Andrew wedding was a privilege to have bestowed upon me. I wanted to ensure that I document their day with all of their personalized and special inclusions.
The finesse and detail had a quintessential Melbourne vibe. The stunning dress detail from Annette of Melbourne. The location photography at Labassa and Port Melbourne. Then reception at Luminare with a stunning view of the Melbourne cityscape. Read more below…
The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was at the classic blue stone church of St Johns the Baptist in Clifton Hill.
One of my favourite images is of the priest patiently waiting outside for the bride. Caterina’s father was the proud parent. Waving to guests as he walked Caterina down the aisle, the day was about him too after all.
Labassa Mansion
Moving quickly after the ceremony to Labassa Mansion, in Hawthorn. It is a Victorian architectural icon of Melbourne. With opulent features, it’s a stunning backdrop to take portraits. Another favourite location of mine and our brides for Melbourne weddings.
Luminare, Wedding Reception
Luminare makes for a great wedding reception and photos. The details created are always a well thought out inclusion of the wedding. The other important elements of any wedding reception is the speeches and the first dance.
Capturing all the emotion through a documentary and candid style of photography are an essential technique for a wedding photographer to have. You can see the fun and the happiness had by all at this wedding.
I hope that you enjoy this collection of images as much as I did creating them.
